Getting Ruby Queen Out there!

Been about a week since I posted last, so it's time for another update! Ruby Queen, Inc. now has a website at www.rubyqueeninc.net where you can get all the lastest news, screenshots, and official information about the game itself. Also progress on Pinewood is all but done with work being done on the opening intro now, along with some major commissions to art and sprites. I might take a day or two per week, but I'm pretty much working at this full time, so no worries!

With that out of the way, enjoy a few screenshots!

Moving right along!~

Good news everyone!  Pinewood is finally coming along with some awesome progress, especially thanks to CVincent's assistance and DrassRay's aid in helping me point out things that can be changed, edited, added, or tweaked in my parallax map!  On top of this, my artist has finally gotten Lillian done!  She looks amazing and I can't wait to see further progress of more character from him.  If you want to see an updated picture of Lillian, please head over to the forum post linked below.  Stay tuned!~

Back in Action!

Well, after a nasty maleware / virus had effected my computer and made it nearly impossible to browse the internet and made all my applications extremely slow - I have returned with a new install of Windows 7 and perfectly working setup. I'll be returning soon to my mapping and it's going well. I have finally perfected the first area and now moving onto the big task of parallax mapping the town of Pinewood outside!  I'm really excited.

Concept Art

I thought I'd give everyone a small treat and post some concept art for Lillian. The artist I've hired (found here -- http://121642.deviantart.com/) is currently working on a full version for our main character and I'm really excited for it! Anyways, enough chatter. Here's the art!

This piece was done by Meya Meya. I really like the cuteness this one has and it's very well drawn. Unfortunately, what she was asking was out of our budget, however she's definitely worth the money if you have it.

This is the first sketch done by "121642." It almost captured exactly what we were looking for, however Lover's Rift starts off in a modern setting and while amazing, doesn't exactly fit the vibe.

This is the final sketch done and the one you'll be seeing fully done in color. It holds a certain kindness and sweetness that Lillian has herself and reflects a more modern clothing style while still being girly. I'm sure she'll look many times better with shading and color done!

Skymoon's Mapping

I've recently commissioned work from Skymoon's Mapping in hopes of using the maps he creates for a nice base for my parallaxing edits. I must say, I'm very please with his work. While he may not have knowledge to do parallaxing just yet, he has taken my request and made a very believable household from it - it was honestly a surprise how well it had been done. I'm going to do very well using his map as a base.  ^.^

Sneak Peak

Just a real quick sneak peak at what I've been doing with parallax mapping!~

Look! It's Lillian! It's night time at the library and she's enjoying her view from inside ... I present to you, transparent windows. I don't remember a lot of games doing this, but I'm seriously toying with the idea of letting players go behind the southern walls of just about anything ... just like you'd go behind a plant, a tree, or bench.  ^.^
